A cyclist was killed in a road accident on the Senbag Bazar-Senbag road in front of Khalek’s shop in Kabilpur union under Senbag upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Mainuddin Niloy, 13, son of late Ala Uddin, resident of Paschim Lalpur village of the upazila.

According to the local sources, Niloy was cycling on the road in front of Khalek’s shop. At that time, a speeding pickup van hit Niloy and he fell on the road. He died on the spot when another motorcycle ran over him around 1:30pm, officer-in-charge (OC-Investigation) inspector Md. Ruhul Amin said.

Police recovered the body from the spot, he said.

The driver of the pickup van and motorcyclist managed to flee the scene, he added.
